| Textiles and metals… unlikely companions. Yet there's something about the “Rug and Earring Store” that is simply an expression of my passions. |

I now use the loom displayed here. But I learned to weave on one of those square red metal looms, turning out potholders the summer of my 8 th year. Then I really learned to weave while attending Northern Illinois University (Bachelor of Arts degree), and a few years later I really learned to weave at the Webschule Sindelfingen (a weaving trade school in Germany). All the while, I was weaving, and teaching weaving, and exploring the world of possibilities that textile arts present.

It's said that the ancient Egyptians believed that the goddess Isis devised the art of weaving, and that they placed shuttles at her temple. Here's to Isis! |

Along the way, my path crossed those of other artisans, working with metal. Before I knew it, I was playing with wire… bending, shaping, forging… (After all, it's just kind of stiff yarn, isn't it?) My jewelry is almost always about color (beads and stones) and texture (forging and wrapping) and some kind of linking. I love the added dimension that these pieces can move, and they sometimes chime as beads and stones hit metal.

| So, please take a look in the Loom and Jewelry areas to see some of the things I make. I hope they help make your world a warm and colorful place. | |
Best regards, |
